I am not sure that I understand the point which the author is trying to 
make in that blog post.

That having been said, I don't think Google+ will ever amount to much.  I 
really like it, personally, but really, I don't keep up with many people on 
there except Ed and Cary and the Carolina Panthers.  I won't/can't get a 
Facebook account, so I will continue to use it, but sometimes I wonder "why 
bother?"
