I saw the name Lindelof in the article, and it all made sense. That guy is the 
Ultimate Worst. He's the Donald Rumsfeld of screenwriters.

True story:
 
When I went to see GI Joe: Retaliation (which rocks), there was a trailer for 
this. Once it ended, there was an audible, definitie groan from the audience.  
Which suggests a combination of:
 
A. Folks like my friend Adam who knew how much the movie has been changed from 
the source material and
 
B.  Folks like me who never read it, but thought the movie looked like a 
steaming pile anyway.

It's pretty much a foregone conclusion that this movie is DOA; the teaser clips 
looked like absolute crap given the expectations set up by the source material. 
Honestly, if this were billed as an original story I wouldn't be as negative 
(although budget overruns and reshooting scenes is always a red flag); but it 
looks like they've just flat out rewritten core concepts of the story starting 
with the zombies.
