I loved the book twenty years ago. Recommended it in the past when teens ask me what to read, etc.
The author's politics are problematic, but it's a great sci-fi read. The Hunger Games (I mostly enjoyed Book 1)/Battle Royale debt is shameless, but I think young folks won't care if this is perceived as like the Hunger Games. Might even work in its favor.
