I tend to avoid political discussion in this forum, but I'd be happy to discuss 
it in another. Atlas Shrugged is more of a libertarian ideal, not a 
conservative one. You can adhere to one without the other. Libertarianism 
diverges from typical conservatism pretty widely when it comes to some talking 
points. 
Battlefield Earth was just awful, no politics required.
