So, for those who don't know, I organized a convention about a decade ago
called DreamCon.  Things didn't quite go as planned, to say the least.  The
only reason it did as well as it did was due to a great deal of support from
many of you on this board.  Thanks bunches for that.

Short version is, I'm thinking of restarting DreamCon around its 10th
anniversary.

Things are still in the planning stages, but the general plan is sometime in
Orlando in 2014.  I’ve met with one potential hotel already and am planning on
meeting with others.  Once we get a hotel and a date, we’ll start inviting some
guests.  It won't be quite as extravegant as last time, but it will still have
all the fun goofy things that make hotel based worth going to.

I’ve started to set up a website, www.DreamConOrlando.com, a twitter account,
@dreamoconorlando, and a Facebook page,
https://www.facebook.com/pages/Dreamcon/377949958987807

Of course, there are always challenges: namely, the name.  The webhosting
company, Dreamhost, has filed a trademark application for DreamCon, a user
conference in California.  And some guys who did a “DreamCon” back in the 90s
are planning on doing another in 2014 in Raleigh, NC.  I’m using my Esq. judo
on the former, not really worried about the later.

In the meantime, I need to beef up the website and the FB page.  I have
surprisingly few pictures myself of DC04.  If anyone has any pics, please send
them to so I can post them.  I’ll also be contacting the people who have
already posted pics online to see if they mind me using them.

I've created a separate google group thingy so as to not keep inundating this
group with DC14 stuff that some people might not care about.
https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/dreamcon-orlando

Let me know if you have any thoughts on the matter.

Regards,

~Ron
