There are times I miss the utility of Plex on a media PC (still think the Mac Mini is the best out-of-the-box media PC ever) but I don't regret switching to the Apple TV. It hasn't been difficult letting iTunes manage my library instead of Plex, and it can handle anything I buy where Plex choked on anything with DRM. If I weren't Mac-centric I'd have opted for a Roku, I think you can get a Plex app natively for it.
