Google TV getting Chromecast support in a future update http://www.engadget.com/2013/07/25/google-tv-chromecast-support/?utm_medium=feed&utm_source=feedly
via feedly.com I really thought Google TV was going to be huge when I first read about it, but for various reasons it just never took off (I think reluctance by content providers played a big role). Maybe Chromecast will help spark it again. I just bought a new TV, and the software interface included in it is pretty crap. Graphically clumsy, non intuitive controls, and poorly responsive; the only reason I'll use it is to access Amazon Prime (the one thing the Apple TV won't do without using AirPlay to push it from an iPhone or iPad). If Google could capitalize on their search prowess this could really be a winner- it would be nice to just ask for a movie/show/actor and have Google search both your local archive and streaming services for it instead of looking manually. I have a hard time keeping track of what's on what service. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "The Unique Geek" group.
