I concur with Luke. The director's cut of Daredevil is pretty good. My biggest issue was the seesaw fight (just realized it was a blind guy on a "see" "saw" . . . /groan/...). Although the director's cut did show more of how little the film makers understand about how the civil/criminal legal system actually works, but meh . . . I thought Affleck did a fine job as Matt Murdock and as Daredevil, however . . . he was still Ben Affleck as both characters. While I haven’t seen Argo, he seems to always be Ben Affleck, much in the way Clooney is always Clooney (with maybe exception of Brother Where), and Bradley Cooper is always Bradley Cooper. That can be fine, but I think there is legitimate concern about of ‘Can Affleck be Bruce Wayne/Batman” based off of what we’ve seen him do so far. BTW, I don't think Clooney was good as either (aside it being a worse movie than Steel or Ghost Rider 2), and I think Cooper could actually better than Affleck. Many will bring up the ‘Ledger” factor. Heck, I even did this morning without thinking about it, but now that I have, I think the difference is that the Joker is a Character. I mean that in the traditional sense of actors being “Leading Men” actors vs. “Character” actors. In a sense, it was easier for Ledger to be the Character that is the Joker than it will be for Affleck to be a good Leading Man that is Bruce Wayne. Batman would seem to be the easiest of the roles. Technically, it’s really three roles, Bruce Wayne in public; Bruce Wayne/Batman in private, his real identity; and Batman in public. Affleck can probably do the first not too bad; the third, again, is the easiest; but the second will be a challenge. I didn’t get Keaton at all, especially in the second role. Bale was great in the first two roles, but his Batman voice is now a thing to be mocked. Kilmer wasn’t bad for what he had to work with. It’s interesting that a lot of the articles say it will be an ‘older Batman’. Affleck doesn’t come across ‘old’. Hmmm . . . maybe Affleck will just be the younger Bruce Wayne in flashbacks who has since retired and another actor will be older Bruce Wayne, ala Levit and Willis. Heck, make the older one Willis again. So, yeah, concerned about Affleck, but maybe it’ll work out. . . ~Ron
