Seems pretty obvious to me -- in a similar but different context, fans have 
long espoused the attitude that if such-and-such desirable media was 
available for purchase, they would buy it.  
 
For instance, if Toho would find some way to release official DVDs of Half 
Human and Prophecies of Nostradamus, I would buy both of them.  Since they 
will not be doing that, I am always on the lookout for pirated copies.
 
Make your films available for consumers and they will consume them... to 
the level that your film deserves to be consumed, anyway!
