Great find, Cary! Robocop is one of my favorite films of all time, from
the night I saw it right around my 7th birthday, in the theater on a sneak
preview with Predator. I had the one-sheet on my bedroom door for years
and years. I knew some of those, but a lot of them were new to me.

I do want to add that, regarding the 'X' rating, the majority of what was
cut for that happens in the ED-209 board room scene. The scene as
originally shot featured the corpse of the junior executive being
repeatedly riddled with bullets, to the point where it becomes ridiculous
(intentially by Verohoven). Evidently they were cutting frame by frame
trying to take out juuust enough to satisfy the MPAA with that scene. The
other big cut is the final shot when the gang executes Murphy; the original
shot is a rear view of Weller's head as the bullet explodes through it,
with the gore spraying towards the camera. The Criterion DVD is uncut and
is a MUST BUY for fans of the film; it was among the first DVDs I ever
bought and one of the reasons I upgraded from VHS to DVD when I did.

I remain neutral on the remake; I hope that the filmmakers will try to do
something new with the concept and not just rehash the original.
