This Is The Closest We'll Ever Get To A Great, Live-Action Akira Movie Stop what you are doing and watch the trailer for the fan-made film The Akira Project. Set in Neo Tokyo, (NOT Neo New York, thank god) this crowd-sourced project is probably as close as well ever get to a non-garbage translation of Katsuhiro Otomo's Akira. Producer and director Nguyen-Anh Nguyen created this non-profit feature thanks to a successful Indiegogo campaign back in 2012. All they wanted to do was present a translation of this movie that wasn't a white washed creation set in America, basically they wanted to be true to the source material. We think they were pretty successful. [Via Shut Up And Eat Your Awesome] -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "The Unique Geek" group.
