Glad to be of service! I am a bit behind on Doctor Who, but this new season does look like it might be a bit of a change of pace from the Matt Smith stuff. A bit darker in tone. I'm reminded a little bit of McCoy, who had his humorous touches, but in the one story I watched still had a hard, alien edge to him. And all kidding aside, I could see the plot of Wizard being used on Doctor Who. It would involve technology instead of magic, and aliens instead of monsters, but an alien race trying to make ordinary humans give up all hope and become part of their race is not that outlandish. Heck, it could be a Cyberman story -- if you have given in completely to despair, Cyber-conversion starts looking like a viable option. Mistress Medusa could have easily come from a Doctor Who story -- a beautiful woman who is secretly a monster, who can use her powers to "sense" potential targets. Master Phoenix is a bit harder, though -- unless the Doctor is willing to kill him, he cannot resurrect himself!
