As a PE with a Masters in Electrical Engineering, my advice is remember that your double dipole antenna (rabbit ears) works best when the two dipoles are 180 degrees apart from each other -- that is, horizontal in opposite directions.
Not that indoor antennas are double dipoles anymore, but remember you can still use an analog antenna with a converter box if you have older TVs. I use this set up in our master bedroom since we have only one HDTV and one STB (in the living room).
