The titles are:

Thor
Spider-Gwen
Black Widow
Captain Marvel
Ms. Marvel
She-Hulk
Silk
Princess Leia
Spider-Woman
Unbeatable Squirrel Girl

Old news, but I missed it when it first came around, only saw it now
because I was doing my DCBS order sheet. For $1 apiece (50 cents with my
DCBS discount!), I will gladly check out pretty much all of these, save
Thor and Squirrel Girl, which I have no real interest in.

I am going to be passing this list along to a friend of mine who is a
nascent comics reader. She was very excited by the concept of A-Force, and
is a burgeoning Captain Marvel fan, so I think she will appreciate getting
a sampler of heroines for a great price. (I also need to tell her that
there is an Agent Carter one-shot coming out in September as part of the
SHIELD 50th Anniversary; she is cosplaying as Peggy Carter for DragonCon.)

Whether it's being PC Friendly or Grrrl Power Marketing or whatever, I do
have to admit that I like that Marvel is at least servicing the market for
heroines alongside their heroes on the comics racks. In that sense, the
origins of the books don't matter to me -- I am happy with the result
because I think getting new characters a chance to shine as well as giving
new creators a chance at the spotlight is a good thing. I've been saying
for years that comics do not have to be a zero-sum game -- having, say, a
Spider-Gwen title does not by default have to take readers away another
book to survive, if you can properly place and market the book to consumers
who might not have been buying anything beforehand.

I also want to mention that while it's neat to me having multiple female
Spider-Family characters have titles, what about the Spiderwoman I read in
the 90s, Julia Carpenter?! Yeah, I know she is Madame Web now, but still
think it could work.
