On Sunday at the Valiant panel at SC Comicon, there were hints of big news coming on Monday, and this was apparently it. Faith is a really fun character, and the first two issues of her mini have been great, so I am happy to see her get an ongoing. Valiant is firing on all cylinders as we are rolling towards the 4001 AD event this summer. FWIW, 4001 AD follows a similar format as last year's really successful Book of Death: --Main 4 issue miniseries tells the event. --Story arc in Rai tells the history of the Rais and how that connects to the "present" (in this case the "present" is the year 4001.) --4 standalone one-shots focused on other characters. The difference is that BoD had the 4 issue mini and the 4 one-shots, but the instead of an arc in an ongoing title, it was a second miniseries called Legends of the Geomancer which told of the rise of the first Geomancer. But, same idea in layout. The beauty of this format is that you really only need to buy what you want to read, as each is self contained. Also, the fact that there is 12 books for the entire event means that it will cost less to buy the entire event than 1 month of either a DC or Marvel event... -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "The Unique Geek" group.
