Hi everyone, I'm trying to test my Sphinx server using the Sphinx "search" utility from another machine, and I assume that the search utility only needs the "searchd" settings from the sphinx.conf file to run.
However, it's giving me errors that it can't find the SQL database and the index files, which seems bizarre since all "search" needs to do is to connect to the searchd process and do the query. Any suggestions as to what's going on and how to run a test "search" using the Sphinx command line utility from a client machine?
