It's legacy software so I tried my legacy approach :)

I've checked if TS works with fresh app and it did... Then I've begun
deleting parts off my app one by one (delete all the other models, all
plugins, libs, initializers etc.)

In the end it turned out that DataMapper was guilty :) It was required
in one of rake tasks and it broke thinking sphinx's tasks.
