Thanks for highlighting this issue, imho it's useful to have such data archived on google groups. Menno van der Sman proposed a patch that (I think) resolves this issue last month, although I'm not sure what stage Pat is at with merging it into his mainline repository. Hopefully it will be merged soon if it hasn't been already.
