Right. And the wordforms setting appears in the config file (config/ 
development.sphinx.conf)? Have you tried searching with the command  
line tool?

Assuming you're at the Rails app directory, and Sphinx is running:
   search --config config/development.sphinx.conf -e fusball

What's the output?
