This is what I ended up with: "Ah, that's actually what I ended up
doing: (query => split on whitespace => join with ' | ') with ext2 +
SPH_RANK_BM25 makes for a very nice google-suggest-style ajax
autocomplete." That's what I was trying to get at before:
Model.search(
query.split(/\s+/).join(' | '),
:with => { ... },
:match_mode => :extended2,
:rank_mode => :bm25,
:page => 1,
:per_page => 10
)
That way the query, "Do you like flowers?," produces results like
this:
- Do you like flowers?
- Do you give flowers as gifts?
- Are flowers beautiful?
- Do you like cheese?
- Do you swim?
...
