Hey Matt, I hope I understand your issue properly - you want to be able to search for things like "active-record" and return elements for which there is a strict match, right ?
If so here's what I used for http://www.learnivore.com - in your sphinx.yml, add: # default charset but with dash (-) added to support tags like active-record charset_table: "-, 0..9, A..Z->a..z, _, a..z, \ U+410..U+42F->U+430..U+44F, U+430..U+44F" This way dash is considered a regular character.
