Hi Dan I just created a test app and couldn't reproduce this - either within production env, or in dev with cache_classes set to true. I am using 1.3.16, though... try upgrading and see if that helps? Though can't think of any changes I've made that would have such an effect...
If you can create a test app that reproduces the issue, please send it my way.
