If you update to the latest gems - in particular, Riddle 1.0.11 - it's fixed.

Given you're jumping several TS versions (latest is 1.3.18), I highly recommend 
reading the upgrade page of the docs:
http://freelancing-god.github.com/ts/en/upgrading.html
