Hi Pat,
My searchd.log consists of this:

[Thu Apr 21 18:00:33.230 2011] [26852] rotating indices (seamless=1)
[Thu Apr 21 18:00:33.234 2011] [26852] rotating index
'tech_request_delta': success
[Thu Apr 21 18:00:33.234 2011] [26852] rotating finished
[Thu Apr 21 18:00:33.274 2011] [26852] rotating indices (seamless=1)
[Thu Apr 21 18:00:33.277 2011] [26852] rotating index
'tech_request_delta': success
[Thu Apr 21 18:00:33.277 2011] [26852] rotating finished

On changing some indexed attribute of the record this is being printed
on the console

using config file 'D:/Current/TechAssistTest/config/
development.sphinx.conf'...
indexing index 'tech_request_delta'...

When I execute the same query using thinking sphinx the altered record
does not show up even if i do it after a while.But as I stated
previously it reappears after a rebuild.
I hope this is the log you have asked for.
