Hi Ngan If you're restarting Sphinx, then this isn't really avoidable - unless you have separate Sphinx servers for main and backup?
Otherwise, could look at rescuing this error and handling it gracefully? If so, make sure you pass :populate => true in the search request to ensure results aren't lazily loaded.
