Thanks for the response. I added the recommendation to the conf file as well as the path. I also installed thinking-sphinx gem version 1.4.10. When I run rake thinking_sphinx:index from my rails root i get: * rake aborted! Don't know how to build task 'thinking_sphinx:index'*
