The setting you're after is mem_limit - which I think at some point had a
default of 32M, but Sphinx has now decided it must be set, I guess.
You can customise it in config/sphinx.yml (which you'll need to create if you
don't have it already):
development:
mem_limit: 64M
Set as high or low as you like... it depends on how much data you're dealing
with, but maybe 128M is a good starting point? Also, keep in mind that this is
just the memory limit for the indexing process, not the daemon.
