Hi Alex

I'd recommend setting app_root manually as part of your initialisation process 
(not sure where the appropriate place is for that in Padrino). That should help 
with paths generally. You may want to set the environment as well via the 
RAILS_ENV environment variable.

  ThinkingSphinx::Configuration.instance.app_root = Dir.pwd (or something more 
specific, perhaps?)

I've seen your github comments come through as well - this has been an insane 
week, else I would have been faster getting back to you there. Let me know if 
you have any further questions.
