Hi Kakani

You could try reinstalling the mysql gem - though it wouldn't hurt to look into 
using the mysql2 gem instead (given it's more actively maintained, though I'm 
not sure which version is appropriate for Rails 2.x.

It's also worth noting that you seem to have Thinking Sphinx installed as a 
plugin (in vendor), and for some reason you have ts-delayed-delta in the root 
of your project? That's a little odd, and certainly not recommended. If at all 
possible, you should switch to the gem releases for both libraries. And yes, 
you should definitely remove the searchd_binary_name and indexer_binary_name 
settings from your sphinx.yml file.

As for ensuring your app uses a certain version of the gem, I think you need to 
have that requirement listed in your config/environment.rb file - that'll 
ensure it doesn't use a newer version (e.g.: 3.0.0).
