That's a bug - and I've just fixed it now. If you use the following in your
Gemfile, it should work fine:
gem 'thinking-sphinx', '~> 3.0.2',
:git => 'git://github.com/pat/thinking-sphinx.git',
:ref => 'b50e7d3f4c'
