Hey Pat, actually I solved it by running system 'flyling-sphinx index'
What do you think of this solution? I had to duck out to play squash and then forgot to mention this when I got home. No worries, I think because I'm learning I don't know automatically how to do things that are obvious to a lot of experienced coders.
