As detailed in the GitHub issue you’ve also created, I think this is related to 
the PATH environment variable - cron doesn’t automatically inherit your PATH, 
so the Sphinx executables ‘searchd’ and ‘indexer’ are very likely not 
available. You can set the PATH environment variable via whenever as detailed 
in this Stack Overflow answer:
