Ah... just to confirm, are the settings in config/sphinx.yml nested under an 
environment (development, production, etc - like in config/database.yml)?

Also: I highly recommend updating TS to at least v2.1.0. 2.0.13 is almost two 
years old, and really, the v3.1 releases are the best place to be moving 
forward. Granted, switching from v2 to v3 can be a bit of work.
