Regarding distributed index, why is it necessary in 
ThinkingSphinx-generated sphinx.conf? 

Specifically, I am referring to this block (my indexed class is called 
Resource): 

index resource
{
}

If I remove the above, and just have:

index resource_core
{
...
}

would ThinkingSphinx.search still work? Why is the distributed index 
necessary in the first place?
