One more thing...
If you change the eeprom with a new one, which has no password, you change the
serial number, etc....all vital data of the motherboard.
Even more: on a system which has hard disk password activated, there are
chances that the hard disk password and the BIOS password are the same.
Not necessarily, but it is more logical: if you input the bios password and it
matches the hdd password, the laptop doesn't ask for the hdd password too, only
in a foreign laptop.
If you clear the password, you can throw away the hdd, there are some ways to
recover the hdd password BUT the price for this recovery exceeds the price of
the hdd itself.
So the best way for recovery is to read the eeprom and find the password from
it. It is a very difficult job.
Unfortunately i am located in Romania and shipping would cost too much,
otherwise i done a few recoveries already.

Best regards,

Janos
