I tried both.

The "removable device" is before all other options (HDD for instance)
And I tried F12 and selected "removable device" manually.

Both does not work.

Then I verifed the USB-stick boots all well by testing it in my desktop PC.

What is in the way that it won't boot on the mentioned ThinkPads?
