To Whom It May Concern:

I have a Lenova t60 and for the first time, my charger will not charge the
battery or even give enough power to operate the computer when the battery
is not connected.  It will turn my computer on but then automatically shut
off because of a 0190 battery low error.  Any help would be greatly
appreciated.

Thanks,

Ted

Re: T60 charging problem:

It appears that the machine is not receiving power. Do a few minutes of t/s b4
buying a new batt.

Does the green power LED light? Do you have a meter, or even a 12v light bulb
to test your power adaptor with? It should have enough power to fully light a
car headlight. If the AC brick's wire is moved often, it can fray internally
where it gets kinked hanging out the back of the machine. It could be the
connector inside the machine, see if power is getting that far b4 sending the
machine out or buying a new batt.

In addition, I'd keep the following handy if you travel often:
i). Spare power brick, less for failing bricks (the brick itself is reliable)
but in case one is lost + for troubleshooting. That's also a good excuse to buy
the air/auto compact adaptor.
ii) Get a cheap battery to use in the machine while plugged in. Toss the good
one in the fridge with about 1/2 charge - unlike alkalines, Li-ion batts age
faster at room temp. Do not freeze them.
Now you have a known good batt and brick; next time it will take 5 min to see
if you have an internal machine problem or not.
