Do NOT attempt to solder on the leads. Lithium batteries will EXPLODE if exposed to that much heat (and the leads won't stay on anyway). ----- Original Message ----- From: "Anthony Tigero" <[email protected]>

Subject: [Thinkpad] Replacing Button Battery in T-22

I just replaced my first button battery in my T-22. I searched the list
first and got some pointers. Doing it was something I wish to never do
again. Getting the carrier out was quite hard, mainly getting the little
white connector to release from under the case that obscurred it. Then
prying the lead tabs off of the old spot welded battery. Then getting to
solder the wire leads onto a crisp new CR2032 battery. Sheeeesh. I put
a piece of shrink wrap around the holder to keep the now naked battery
clean. My question: Has anyone found a source of the backup
batteries WITH the leads preinstalled? TT
