Firefox 3.0.10 download is 7.1MB. On a logical partition (G:), my
installation with a dozen extensions and a *huge* bookmark file, is about
180MB, but I have previously maintained a slimmer installation. There are a
number of files which can grow to be quite large but are easily deleted,
then the application recreates them with all the fat gone. Which files are
safely removed will be listed in the forums. The new version, Firefox 3.5,
due out later this year, is supposed to be smaller and faster, so it may
prove a better application for your needs once the changes are distributed.
I find Chrome an excellent browser (fast and small) especially when
rebuilding systems, but it lacks the kind of extensions available for
Firefox which offer so much help for research and simplification of tasks on
the web.
