Hi, The inverter on my X40 seems to be failing. Don't know if I diagnosed it right but once in a while, the screen goes blank but you can still see the images on the screen but its like the light was turned off.
Also I notice that this happens more when the output is both LCD and VGA out, if LCD only it happens rarely. To fix it, I just cycle the Fn+F7 key and its back to normal again. Assuming its the inverter, do i need to get the specific FRU# of my X40, I looked at the X40 HMM and it lists 4 FRU's, 2 ambit and 2 sumida. Should i get the exact FRU# or any of the 4 listed in the HMM would do? Will the inverter of the X41 work as well just in case I can't find a X40 inverter?
