BE REALLY CAREFUL.
I managed to short out a T20 once doing that - everything is exposed and everything but your finger will create a short circuit. ----- Original Message ----- From: "TK" <[email protected]>

Is there some problem for Notebbok?
If I unplug keyboard how I can turn on the Notebook
if the switch on button is connected to the keyboard?

Although your x61 is different from my T41, on my T41 the trick was to plug just the keyboard connector back in (after the laptop was otherwise taken apart) in order to press the power button. I did this so I could test if my new fan would spin before I put the computer back together. I'm glad I did, because the new fan was completely broken! So I had to order another new fan.

Good luck, and be patient.
