We have used it on computers that had been using VISTA because the drivers
are the same so far. Works ok... much better than VISTA... the trick for
the other computers I use is finding the right drivers for the various
components... It would be nice to know that 7 is more like XP Professional
and uses the same drivers, but that is not likely to happen.

Windows 7 RC expires in August, doesn't it? And Windows 7 will not be
officially released until October 22nd.

But there will be other releases, I suspect.

I believe it expires in March of next year before you must purchase a valid
license.
My only pergogative for putting it on the X40 was to try it out. When my
mom got an upgrade
from her aging HP Vectra, I installed Vista Ultimate 32bit on her HP Compaq
Biz PC,
so I thought of making her hte gunea pig for Windows 7.

Suffice to say, I've tried running Vista under Microsoft Virtual PC on this
X60 Tablet,
and it was pretty painfully slow. But Windows 7 on the same machine, and
it's not the fastest,
but the speed was very impressive compared to that of the former. Actually
usable, and with only 1.2GB
allocated (she'd only be doing 1-2 things at once anyways, no Photoshop or
running 15 apps at once like
I do under XP).
