We were at a meeting of gummint contacts on drive storage where peoplo from
Intel gave us this link,
http://www.intel.com/buy/components/ssd/embedded.htm

But there is no useful information there yet.

What we "learned" at this session was that they were expecting the drives
would be only for Windows 7 machines... 32, 64, and 80 at 7.0 mm, 100, 160GB
through 250GB or possibly 320GB at 9.5mm, and 500GB to 1 TB on up would be
12.5 mm... but that they had nothing to document any of this.

There is apparently a technical difference or software found or to be
implemented in Windows 7 that is required for these SSD drives to access and
remove data efficiently... Nothing was offered in writing, and we were told
it may be mid October before we see any releases, in concert with releases
on Windows 7.

Unofficially, people thought the news release last week was perhaps
premature, because early August is not normally the time they see solid
information bouncing about.

It appears all companies are jockying for position.

This suspense is terrible. I hope it will last.
