I have just got an x60s with standard Windows XP Pro installation. I
have installed Windows updates, and removed the Symantec utilities, but
not changed anything else.
Through the ThinkVantage global power settings I have set the machine to
hibernate when the lid is closed, but when I close the lid nothing
happens -- the machine keeps running and the screen stays lit.
I can't see anything wrong. The lid closes nicely and latches correctly.
In Power Manager > Global Power Settings > Power management options
Enable hibernation is ticked. The machine responds correctly to Fn+F12
(that is, it hibernates).
Can anyone suggest some setting I have missed? Anything mechanical I
should check?
