There is usually some sort of BIOS lock, that limits the models it will work
on.
That being said, almost all ThinkPad XP recovery disks work on almost all
ThinkPads

This might be a dumb question, but I would like to confirm how the
recovery disks work.
I just picked up 3 T400 systems and am setting them up. When I made a set
of recovery disks, the dialog said that the disks would only work with
"this system." Are they somehow tiedto the specific hardware (i.e., a
specific computer), or just to a system with the same configuration. The
3 systems I have are all the same configuration; while I can make a set of
recovery disks for each one, I would rather not. Will a single set of
recovery disks work with all 3 systems?
