I just wanted to report that I was able to upgrade my T61p (Model
6459-CTO) successfully to 8GB of RAM using a 2x4GB kit from G.Skill.
The part number was F2-6400CL6D-8GBSQ, which I purchased from
NewEgg for around $250.
What are you doing on a laptop that requires 8 gig?
I think the memory can run at a higher frequency than my T61p
supports, however, it was one of the less expensive kits, and I
can always use it later in something that does use PC-6400 DDR2
memory.
