Hello,

I just wanted to report that I was able to upgrade my T61p
(Model 6459-CTO) successfully with a 750GB 5400RPM WDC Scorpio
Blue hard disk drive, model WD7500BPVT, which I purchased from
NewEgg for around $120.

This is one of the new "Advanced Format" hard disk drives that
uses a sector size of 4KiB (4,096 bytes), as opposed to the 512
byte sectors which are commonly used on most hard disk drives
today.

Interestingly, the drive's label warns XP users of this, and
recommends they visit http://wdc.com/advformat first to obtain
special disk partitioning/resizing tools. Windows Vista and
Windows 7 do utilize the drive without requiring special
software.

I created a small 48GB partition and successfully installed
and updated Windows 7 Ultimate Edition x64 with no problems.

Regards,

Aryeh Goretsky
