Hello,

I do not know what the issue is, but would suggest the following as a
general troubleshooting course of action:

1. Download the latest full installation packages (plus any patches
or hotfixes) for the following software on your computer:

    o antivirus
o disk backup, imaging, remote backup
    o disk defragmentation
    o remote management

2. Download the latest version of the Client Security Solution
software, plus any patches for it.

3. Download the following programs from Microsoft's support web
    site:

    Windows Installer Clean Up Utility
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301

    User Profile Hive Cleanup Service

http://microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=1B286E6D-8912-4E18-B570-42470E2F3582

You may also wish to download and or print out their instructions.

4. Backup any valuable data from your ThinkPad. If it is really
valuable or unique, make multiple backups and verify them by
restoring the data to another computer.

5. Run Microsoft Update to make sure the computer is up to date
    with respect to Microsoft software.

6. Run Lenovo ThinkVantage System Update to make sure the computer
is up to date with respect to Lenovo software.

7. Disconnect the computer from the Internet.

8. Uninstall the following programs from your computer:

    o antivirus
o disk backup, imaging, remote backup
    o disk defragmentation
    o remote management
o existing installation of Client Security Solution

Be sure to reboot after each program is uninstalled, even if you
are not prompted to do so.

9. Run the Windows Installer Clean Up Utility.

A. Install the latest version of the Client Security Solution, plus
any patches (if there were any).

B. Reinstall the latest versions of the following programs on your
    computer:

    o antivirus
o disk backup, imaging, remote backup
    o disk defragmentation
    o remote management

I would suggest rebooting post-installation, even if not asked to
    do so.

C. Reconnect the computer to the Internet.

At this point, I am hoping you an working computer with all the updated
programs operating correctly on it. If not, report back at which point
the error occurs and what the exact error message is.

Hi all.

Time to turn to the collective wisdom of the TP listserv.

Just recently, on my X60Tablet running XP SP3, whenever I double click on a
folder on my desktop, up pops a 'Client Security Solution' installer. yet it
does not find any files to install from. I need to cancel it three times
before it stops and whatever folder I clicked on opens - or let it go to the
'file not found' dialog box. Btw, this includes 'my computer' and 'my
documents' if I try to open them.

Seems to have started mysteriously and randomly as I have not done any
updates or upgrades of late :-8

Several disk, error, and AV utilities that I have run do not come up with
anything amiss or unusual.

Has anybody on the listserv seen this?

Any ideas?

Any input is greatly appreciated! Many thanks in advance.

Regards - esko
