If you are running XP, I'd suggest disabling the BSOD auto restart.
Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> System -> Advanced -> Startup
and Recovery -> Settings -> System Failure, and un-check
"Automatically restart." Then you will be able to see the BSOD until
you manually reboot.
