I've received a similarly vague message when the monitor was not able to display the settings that I had set up as the default to be applied when I was docked. -- i.e. I had a default setting configured for a docked setup, but then I changed the monitor without changing the default settings, and when Presentation Manager tried to apply the default, it found that the new monitor wouldn't match the screen resolution I had configured for it. Resolved it by changing the default setting for that hardware config. Running X60T with XPSP3.
